Edisto River – Good Hope Landing to Jellico’s Landing

Rate this post

Description: The Edisto River is typically a slow river and relaxing to float. Most of the river is shallow enough to stand and this section provides plenty of opportunities to experience the wilderness, away from many houses and loud roads. There are multiple sandy beaches to stop and rest. Please watch out for fallen trees in the river, they can be very dangerous, so keep a look out ahead and stay safe!

Note: Local law enforcement and the Department of Natural Resources have been patrolling the river and kicking people off of beaches due to trespassing. I believe you’re safe up to the high water mark, but if you decide to stop on a beach, do so at your own risk.

Length: 4 miles

Cost: $2 per vehicle (Pay at Blackwater Bait and Tackle on 17A, the landing is down the hill.)

Edisto River Gauge - Givhans State Park
Note: This gauge does not tell the depth of the water throughout the entire float. It is measured in a single place to give an overall idea of the height of the river compared to other days measurements.
